After having introduced the top-quark effective field theory, I describe the standards established by the LHC TOP Working Group to foster developments in this field. Experimental collaborations and theorists are encouraged to release their results using these conventions to facilitate comparisons and combinations. I then present recent progresses in the realisation of more and more global analyses which are currently challenging our practices. Among others, I mention a lepton-collider analysis including loop corrections from top-quark operators to Higgs and diboson processes. It highlights the interconnections between these sectors mostly considered separately previously.
