Description

Jet substructure techniques are playing an increasingly important role at the LHC. In this talk, we will concentrate on a specific pair of tools: the modified MassDrop Tagger (mMDT) and Soft Drop (SD). Both the ATLAS and CMS collaborations have recently measured the jet mass spectrum after the application of mMDT/SD. In parallel, there has been a large progress on the theoretical front to provide precision calculations of this observable in perturbative QCD. In this talk, we will review both the experimental and theoretical aspects of this topic and discuss future potential developments, including a possible measurement of the strong coupling constant.
