Description

At the upcoming EM-U, we will address the question of how the creation of bridges between disciplines can boost innovation. Adriano Garonna, co-founder of EBA-Med, will tell the story of his MedTech start-up. The young venture capitalises on the most advanced technology used in cancer treatments and adapts it to the field of cardiology. More specifically, proton beams are used for fully non-invasive, effective and automated treatment of heart arrhythmias.

Adriano Garonna worked many years at CERN (as a Fellow and at the TERA Foundation) in the intersection of physics and medicine and after attending several CERN entrepreneurship meet-ups, decided to take his leap of faith. Now, we are pleased to welcome Garonna to share his story.
