Conversion and costs
- Nicolas mentioned that it should be stated that member contributions are made in Euros and some other expenditure on different currencies. He also added that some numbers seemed to be rounded. Steve said that the finance is indeed calculated and presented in Euros and that he would check the expenses numbers to make sure they are not rounded;
- Nicolas asked for clarification on the 2k differences between budgeted and received total. Steve clarified that it was due to IPPOG predictions on who would contribute. Nicolas suggested that should be written down on a foot note;
- Pedro commented that we should make clear that Australia has contributed two years in 2017 and therefore only 1K should be counted in 2017 and the other 1k should be added to 2018 budget; the difference should be added on a footnote. IFAAB members voted in favor or Pedro’s suggestion;
Explanation on Expenditure
- Costs for Web Development is for the initial cost of template development
- Regarding Activity support, IPPOG hasn’t received requests from cosmic rays or other projects but wants to wait to see how that develops this year;
- No request for translation and communication but budget will surely be used next year;
- Small request for travel and meetings in 2017 but significantly more request will come in 2018 as meeting become larger within the growth of the collaboration;
- EPS contribution to Particle 4U will be spend as people travel to visit the winning schools;
Reserve
- Steve mentioned that next year we will not spend the whole budget from two years;
- Pedro and Hans Peter mentioned that it is important to start thinking of reserves, specially as we start hiring people and building social responsibility;
- Farid mentioned that it is also important to do not keep a high value on the reserve;
IFAAB members agree that another revision is not needed and can be presented on the CB meeting during next IPPOG meeting.
