Met with public communication experts Sarah Barnes (works for QMUL centrally) and Peter Grimley (works for School of Physics & Astronomy) to talk about promoting the Zooniverse project.

Lots of fruitful discussion. Boils down to:

Who do we want to target:

      1. People who are interested in Science (willing volunteers!)
      2. Computer literate
      3. No required physics knowledge but high school level knowledge might correlate with 1

      4. Can spare a minimum of 10 - 15 minutes. Ideal participants with either spend longer or come back for more than one session.

      Two main strategies:
      1. Engage face to face with participants to get them enthused - fewer participants per time but hopefully they will be more engaged.

      2. Advertise in a publication of some kind e.g. Science in schools - expect very low hit rate, but wider net.

Science museum lates - have some MoEDAL representation as part of a wider event. 18+ event after 6pm for adults to visit the Science museum in London. Sarah has worked previously with QMUL researchers to help them present their research to the public. Will need to work to make sure that people are interested. Probably good to lean on AI as it is a hot topic and also the classic understanding the fundamental building blocks of nature etc.
