Conference room 40-S2-C01
Description
A half day meeting to review all experimental and modelling studies ongoing at CERN on thermal stability of accelerator superconducting magnets.
This review covers transient and steady state heat deposition processes in S.C. cables, coils, and transfer to the helium heat sink. All types of SC magnets built for LHC are concerned. Studies for future projects based on different cables, insulations or cooling modes will be covered.
The review will concentrate on recent progresses, current goals, and resources allocated or to be allocated. Ongoing collaborations will also be mentioned.
The contributions will be limited to 10 minutes talks plus 5 minutes questions, in order to devote enough time to a session of discussions.
