From the Athens Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) to the City Centre

Athens Airport Metro

The Blue line of the Athens Airport metro connects the terminal with the city centre (Syntagma Square). Getting to Athens by metro train will  take 1 hour and cost EUR 10. Metro tickets need to be punched in a special yellow machine before boarding. After that, it is  valid for 90 minutes.

Timetable: from 06:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Route: Airport – Doukissis Plakentios – Chalandri – Ethniki Amyna – Katehaki – Evangelismos – Syntagma – Monastiraki

Travel time: 1h 10min (10min – getting to the metro station, 1h – metro to the city)

Waiting time: 5-10min

EUR 10/EUR 18 (round trip). Complex ticket for 2 people – EUR 18, for 3 people – EUR 24

Leave the airport building, cross the road and follow the To Trains signs. The entrance to the metro station is located in front of exit 2 from the airport building.

Athens Airport Taxis

Taxis (yellow ones) are located outside the Arrivals. Follow the designation. The price for the centre of Athens is 50 - 54 Euro and it takes ~ 40 minutes.

From City Centre to the Venue

The Venue  is 750 m away from  Syntagma Square (see map). You can take the metro at Syntagma Square and get off at Panepistimio.  Yellow taxis are not expensive in the city center, and they cost ~ 4 Euros for a 3-4 km distance.
