Description
A short introduction to the ILC project will be given, with emphasis on the various types of positron sources which are at present being studied for this facility. Moreover, some considerations will be made of the required beam dumps for the e-,e+ and photon beams of the ILC. The question will be raised as how predictions and tests, made with proton beams at the HiRadMat facility at CERN can replace or validate the effects of electrons and photons in target, window and dump materials
