Abstract

Studies of heavy flavour production at the LHC can provide important probes of physics within and beyond the Standard Model. Recent LHCb results on heavy flavour production in proton-proton collisions will be presented in this seminar, including the production cross-section of $\psi(2S)$ mesons at 13 TeV, the kinematic dependence of the fragmentation fractions of $B_s^0$ and $\Lambda_b^0$, and precision measurements of the mass and the production rate of $\Xi_b^-$ baryons.
