Description

It will explain the Monte Carlo (MC) production in the CMS collaboration by emphasizing on the two main tools:  Monte Carlo request Management (McM) and Production Monitoring Platform (pMp). Please register to confirm your participation.

This tutorial has following additions as compared to the previous tutorials:

  • More details about the MC production and monitoring in computing
  • Introduction to datatiers and event content 
  • Explanation about current/future developments, e.g. updates on validation procedures, X-section database
  • Common problems in MC production and solutions
  • The cost of MC production, i.e. computing resources, human resources and money
  • The brief overview of gridpack generation
