Description

This meeting is to start discussion on the scientific program for ASP2020. The dates agreed to in the previous discussion are:
1) Students program: July 5-25, 2020;
2) ASP Conference: July 9-15, 2020;
3) Teachers program: July 13-17, 2020;
4) ASP Forum: in the afternoon of July 15, 2020;
Thus, the forum marks the end of the Conference and will be attended by the teachers and the students in addition by the lecturers present.
5) High school outreach: July 20-24, 2020.

Summary of IOC meeting on April 24, 2019

Present: Christine, Steve and Ketevi

We started the discussion on the integration of the scientific program so that the various planned activities support each other with the required overlap and minimal repetitions or duplications. We agree to work out an overview of the Conference and compare with the student program to identify where there are commonalities to be merged and where to have parallel sessions.

The Forum in the afternoon of July 15 will mark the end of the conference; to be attended by the students, teachers, conference participants and lecturers present.

Student poster sessions and student presentations to be integrated into the Conference.

Colloquia that used to be given to students in the first, second and third weeks to be integrated in the Conference.

General introductory / overview talks given to students, to be integrated into the Conference.

We will iterate over the integration at the next meeting.

Conference should encourage the participation of African graduate students, post-docs, and teach and research faculties.
