Electroweak precision physics at the LHC

Room: SR7 (C.01.101) Precision measurements of electroweak observables offer a viable option for finding indications of new physics and also guidance for the next big discovery. In the past, precise measurements of the fundamental parameters of the standard model were used to successfully predict the existence of new particles, the most recent examples being the top quark and the Higgs boson. The large samples of data collected at the LHC enable measuring some of the fundamental parameters of the standard model with even higher precision.
