Counting (0,2) Landau-Ginzburg theories in two dimensions

I will review the landscape of (0,2) supersymmetric two-dimensional conformal field theories relevant to stringy geometry and heterotic compactification.  I will then describe some recent results and continued challenges in a seemingly tractable corner: the theories obtained by RG flow from supersymmetric Landau-Ginzburg Lagrangians.
