------------ 11.02.2010 HiggsBR phone meeting ------------ Participants: Michael, Sven, Ansgar, Ivica, Georg, Chiara, Rei, Jae Yu, Daniela SM Higgs BR------- Programs/calculations available: HDECAY, PROPHECY4f, EW NLO calculations. Current status of the calculations done for SM Higgs BR the ATLAS Note discussed: - is the Aglietti, Bonciani, Degrassi, Vicini calculation for EW NLO complete? if not, we could consider using the Actis, Passarino one - theoretical uncertainty missing on the BR calculations (expected to be small for QCD side, larger from EW) MSSM Higgs BR---- Programs available: FeynHiggs, HDECAY, CPSuperH. The situation is even more complicated than in the SM, since even the Higgs boson masses depend on the SUSY parameters. Consequently, one cannot even choose one of them for the BR calculation (except MA - or MH+ if we work in the cMSSM, i.e. the MSSM wich complex phases). For the masses there are two codes: FeynHiggs and CPSuperH (which only allows MH+ as input). Similar considerations for the couplings and mixing angles - which goes back to the MSSM XS group. Outcome of the discussion: the idea is to prepare machinery rather than producing numbers, but we need benchmark points to compare results. We should work in contact with the MSSM cross section subgroups. General comments ------ - Rei: The agreed strategy is to calculate the decay partial width as much accurate as possible for each decay modes, and then cook them for the BRs. Correlated an uncorrelated errors should be taken into account properly when computing the BRs. BRs should be calculated to SM Higgs mass up to 1 TeV. - Michael: we should as much as possible, compare different calculations and understand discrepancies, if any. First in the SM Higgs, since here the only unknown parameter is the Higgs mass, so that the comparison is quite straightforward and clean. Comparisons for the MSSM are much more involved. Particularly welcome to our meetings: Giampiero (for the interplay with the PO studies) and Markus Sch. (for the MSSM BR) :-) Homeworks :-) ------------------- - Ivica and Daniela: redo and validate ATLAS calculations, complete with the missing tables (i.e. ZZ and WW BR, but also llnunu, 4l, lnuqq for the high masses), upload the tables on the Twiki - Ansgar and Michael: work together on the BR theoretical errors - Michael: contact Giampiero to check his availability to provide a grid of EW NLO numbers to be used in different codes - Daniela: contact A. Vicini et al. to check the status of their calculations and their availability to provide a grid of numbers, "think" about the comment by Ansgar on formula (7) pg 16 of the ATLAS draft - Sven: prepare a survey of the MSSM BR status (codes, problematics, etc.), to be used as starting point for work and discussion.
