Description

By powder technology we can combine material properties and fine tune the behavior for customized use in applications. These reach from metals or alloyed and mixed metals to ceramics and composites. For processing technologies like hot pressing, spark plasma sintering, sintering, powder injection molding or additive manufacturing are available. Some examples shown will include magnetic ceramics, conductive ceramics, high stiffness light weight metals, thermal conductive composites, high temperature ceramics, platin group metals, neutron repellent materials, super conducting materials and many more. The lecture will talk about developing, processing and resulting properties using the building blocks of powder technology.
