Description

Building 3D maps of the internal structure of the proton allows us to explore the inner structure of matter and and to learn about the dynamics its fundamental constituents.

I will give a brief overview of tcollinear and TMD factorization theorems, which are at the basis of the predictive power of QCD, and an overview of the state of the art of TMD phenomenology, focusing on a personal selection of challenging issues. I will then highlight some of the future perspectives in this field.
