WELCOME TO THOR WINTER SCHOOL 2020!

THOR Winter School 2020 is financed by COST association through COST action CA 15213 Theory of hot matter and relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The school will take place in the Olympic mountain Jahorina at the hotel Bistrica located at 1620 m a.s.l. and 28 km from Sarajevo. The location is very nice for those who love winter sports and nature. 

THOR WINTER SCHOOL INFORMATIONS

The School is intended for Ph.D. students and young researchers working in particle physics, nuclear physics and theoretical physics. It will consist of invited lectures given by distinguished physicists. Each block of Lectures will be accompanied by a Hands-on class and Discussion session under the guidance of the lecturer.

VENUE

Jahorina is a mountain with a long tradition of engaging in various forms of tourism and was one of the mountains hosting the XIV Olympic Winter Games in 1984. In addition to winter tourism, which is known throughout the world, many other forms of tourism have developed on Jahorina, during the whole year. Jahorina hosts various gatherings, seminars, congresses, and sports preparation. 

Bistrica hotel is a few minutes walk from the nearest ski lift. The hotel has comfortable rooms, very good cuisine, swimming pool and gym.

Important note: Please do hot hesitate to contact the staff of the hotel regarding any kind of personal request. The hotel has 152 rooms and 8 suites, in total 300 basic and 60 extra beds.
