Abstract | Software Development and Computer Science are fields for the future, but when you speak to children they are often unfamiliar with some of the fundamentals; what is a program? what is code? what’s a website? At the same time, only a subset of our society is encouraged to play with toys and games that might develop interest or skills in such areas. Many of us participated in mentoring activities for children at the recent Open Days - we will share some experiences from the weekend and talk about other opportunities in the Geneva area. Computing outreach can be hugely enjoyable and impactful (and doesn’t hurt your CV!), maybe it’s something for you? | ||||||||||
