LHC Reinterpretation Forum Report: Status and Recommendations after Run 2

As discussed at the workshops of the LHC Re-interpretation Forum at CERN (May 2018) and Imperial College (Apr 2019), we have been preparing a short report from the Forum summarizing the current status and giving recommendations for the future presentation of results.

Title: Reinterpretation of LHC Results for New Physics: Status and Recommendations after Run 2

Contents:

• current experimental offerings in direct searches for new particles, measurements, technical implementations and Open Data;
• a set of recommendations for further improving the presentation of LHC results in order to better enable re-interpretation in the future;
• a brief description of existing software reinterpretation frameworks and recent global analyses of new physics that make use of the current data.

We are inviting everybody interested in reinterpretation, experimentalists and theorists alike, to co-sign this report, in order to show their support.

Update March 19: the final version is now available as arxiv:2003.07868. Thanks to everybody who contributed to and/or supported this effort!

Update May 28: following suggestions to attempt the publication in a journal, we submitted the manuscript to SciPost Physics at the beginning of April. The three referee reports, publicly available here, are all very positive. Work is in progress to incorporate the referees' suggestions.

Update July 13: circulating revised version for SciPost.

Update Aug 21: hooray! the report is published in SciPost Physics :-D
