Description

Due to the uncertain circumstances in times of the Corona pandemic, we will have to cancel this year's Hadron Collider Summer School. It is not yet clear at the moment, if international traveling will be allowed by the time of the school.

Thank you very much for your registration and that you have shown interest in our school. Unfortunately, we will not be able to bring you together with other students from all over the world this year to learn about the latest developments in hadron collider physics from experienced international lecturers.

But there will certainly be a new edition of HASCO next year. We encourage all of you to register for HASCO 2021. We hope to see many of you!

The main objectives of the hadron collider physics school (HASCO) are to provide an overview of elementary particle physics, with particular focus on hadron collider physics at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This includes lectures and tutorials on theoretical foundations of the Standard Model of elementary particle physics as well as modern, experimental techniques to test it. Furthermore, a focus is placed on statistical data analysis and an introduction to the software package ROOT as well as pp-physics at 13 or 14 TeV. In addition, students will have the opportunity to discuss state of the art measurements and results with senior scientists in the field.

The school targets mainly Master of Science students, while advanced Bachelor students or early PhD students are also
eligible. Please contact your local advisor for further details.

Application deadline: 27 March 2020

The programme is still preliminary, but the dates of the school itself are fixed.
