Description

This event was cancelled due to concerns related to the corona-virus outbreak.

Students from the SOPHUS Project in Ålesund are coming for a week to learn more about particle physics, be inspired by university students originally from Ålesund, and to make a muon detector.

The SOPHUS project is a new and innovative community for students with a love of physics and mathematics. The ideas leading up to the project have been taking shape gradually over a number of years at Fagerlia Upper Secondary School in Ålesund. The aim has been to provide an exceptional learning experience for students from Fagerlia and other schools in the Ålesund region, but also to build relationships and structures with the long-term vision of creating a model for how to develop an outstanding learning environment for young people with an interest in mathematics and physics.

For registering your laptop/mobile phone for wifi access at CERN, please fill in a request here: http://cern.ch/registerVisitorComputer - and use Santeri Palomaki or Hans Boe as the CERN contact person (on the last page of the request form).
