Present:
- nVent: Mann Dietmar, Schneeberger Martin, Zhukov Serge, Waldt Ralf,
- CERN: Paul Thomson, Nikolai?, Konstantin?, Julio De Souza, David Sankey, Julian Mendez, Ralf Spiwoks, Vincent Bobillier
L1 Calo observations, outcome:
- Fake temp issue gone since November 15
- What did cure the problem: not understood yet.
- Discussions on how to identify the source of this: not clear, to be continued/kept in mind…
- IPMB interruptions :
- Seems CERN-IPMC related
- Occurrence proportional to shelf occupancy
Summary of the actions taken by nVent so far (by Dietmar Mann):
- Checked the HW of the CERN custom shelf
- One shelf installed and tested @nVent
- Test with 6-7 load boards with and without load.
- Shelf event log checked. No error observed.
- Requested the L1Calo logs: Checked them and saw the bus interrupts (fake on/off)…
- This was never seen on the nVent shelf
CERN IPMC:
- Work on the architecture presented
- Direct upgrade to latest PP release not possible
- V 1.3. addressing an I2C timing issue: to be tested
- Patch needed therefore (discussed by email in January)
- Other issue: OEM with ShMan 700 (ok with ShMan 500)
- ShMan to be updated to 3.7.01 (addressing this issue)
- Instructions for the upgrade sent by Arthur. (Note: not received by VB also not in the spams)
- Broader discussion on the CERN IPMC architecture: to be discussed in a separated meeting.
Next steps:
- David will send a board to Schroff via CERN in 1-2 wks.
- IPMC patch from PigeonPoint (I2C timing fix): Will be chacked by Dietmar. Expected in 1wk.
Next meeting date: March 20 2pm, TBC
