Ad-Hoc Meeting #27 (BI Line 3D drawings)

Europe/Zurich
865/1-B03 (CERN)
Vidyo Participants: W. Bartmann, C. Bracco, JP Corso, G.P. Di Giovanni, Y. Muttoni, B. Riffaud, P. Valentin.
Goal of the meeting: discuss the status of the skeleton, 2D and 3D drawings of the BI line.
- The integration team recently reported about a few mis-matches between the data in GEODE and the current skeleton.
- P. Valentin confirmed that the data in GEODE for the BI line are the latest ones and reflect the installation in the machine.
- C. Bracco checked the data in GEODE and reported that they match the optics model, as discussed in 2019, ie at the time of the delay of the marking of the BI line.
- All participants agreed that the skeleton should be updated to reflect the data in GEODE for all equipment but the BTV, which will remain in the same position as in the current skeleton. In turn, MME should be able to update the 3D drawings and produce the 2D drawings.
- P. Valentin and JP Corso added that BI.BTV.10 has been moved by 75 mm in downstream direction during the BI pre-alignment campaign. In fact, the lengths of vacuum chamber did not match with the slots available on each side of the equipment.
- JP Corso mentioned that the mismatch with the BTV position cannot be resolved matching the equipment with the data present in GEODE and P. Valentin confirmed the uncertainty in relying on the GEODE data for this equipment.
- C. Bracco confirmed that the offset is due to the optics vs mechanical different, but if one takes this into account the mis-match is ~100 um, which is within the expected tolerance. So the position in the skeleton is fine.
- Action for JP Corso/Y. Muttoni: provide a timeline for the update of the skeleton of the BI line.
- B. Riffaud mentioned that MME had to re-arrange priorities, following the lock-down due to COVID-19. The timeline of the update of the 2D/3D drawings in the BI line has to be reviewed. Action GP Di Giovanni/B. Riffaud: review the priority PSB list of the drawings to be updated in the overall planning of MME.
