Title: Maximal axion misalignment from a minimal model.

Abstract:
The misalignment mechanism is well known to produce an abundance of the QCD axion consistent with dark matter for an axion decay constant of order 1012 GeV. For a smaller decay constant, the QCD axion, with Peccei-Quinn symmetry broken during inflation, makes up only a fraction of dark matter unless the axion field starts oscillating very close to the top of its potential, in a scenario called "large-misalignment''. I will discuss a simple dynamical model realising the large-misalignment mechanism. I will also overview the phenomenological implications of this mechanism for dark matter experiments and colliders.

Title: Searching for Annihilating Dark Matter with Cosmic Ray Antideuterons

Abstract:  The WIMP paradigm dark matter enjoys compelling motivation on both theoretical and empirical fronts, and though modern-day constraints have disfavored many model realizations, viable thermal relic candidates such as those annihilating via hidden sector processes are still readily constructable. Ultimately, indirect detection is the definitive way to search for a WIMP,  as it directly probes the products of DM annihilation, and in particular antideuteron cosmic rays represent a unique channel that is ostensibly background-free.  In this talk I'll discuss explicit detection prospects for annihilating DM models with near future antideuteron experiment GAPS, using a hidden sector dark photon dark matter as an archetype.
