Description

Geodesy is an important tool for national development. Data obtained from geodetic techniques so-called geodata can be used for various applications, and also become one of the national infrastructures achieving the goal of becoming Innovative Thailand. Currently, the main geodetic facility of the country is the network of GNSS Continuous Operating Reference Stations or CORS. However, data from the GNSS technique still contain errors caused by instrument clock, satellite ephemeris, geocenter motion, etc. So that to evaluate the national infrastructure, stations of another space geodetic technique, Very Long Baseline Interferometry or VLBI has been being built by NARIT, under the project called Development of Radio Receiver and Processing System for Radio Astronomy and Geodesy. Two geodetic VLBI stations and their signal chain will be built and equipped in the northern and southern part of Thailand. Progress of the development will be reported in this presentation, as well as the related geodetic activities.
