Description

The high density, temperature,  and extreme gravity encountered inside neutron stars can provide unique opportunities to either discover or constrain the particle nature of dark matter. I will discuss a few recent ideas and comment on how multi messenger observations of neutron stars in the coming decades might allow us to discover light (< GeV) hidden sectors. In some cases, neutron stars can probe sectors that couple much too weakly for direct detection.
