Seminar

Radiative Fermion Masses, Higgs Measurements and g-2

by Michael James Baker (University of Melbourne (AU))

Australia/Sydney
Description

Most Standard Model fermions have masses much smaller than the weak scale.  An attractive theoretical explanation is if the Higgs-fermion coupling is generated radiatively.  Radiative models typically violate the Standard Model relation between masses and Higgs-fermion couplings, which is currently being tested at the LHC.  We classify one-loop radiative models of the bottom, tau and muon masses, and explore the phenomenology of benchmark models at current and future experiments.  For the muon, we identify regions of parameter space which could explain the putative g-2 anomaly.
