DESCRIPTION:The observation of long-range correlations in high-multiplicit
y proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions at RHIC and LHC suggests the
potential formation of a strongly-coupled Quark-Gluon Plasma in smaller v
olumes. We present the first high-precision measurement of long-range near
-side yields in pp collisions down to very low charged-hadron multipliciti
es as well as the challenges involved in such analysis. This measurement e
xtends the use of long-range correlation techniques to low-multiplicity ev
ents and provides a quantitative comparison to the results obtained in poi
nt-like e+e- collisions at similar event multiplicities. With these result
s\, we provide unprecedented constraints on the emergence of collective ph
enomena in hadronic collisions in a so-far unexplored kinematic region.\nR
