DESCRIPTION:\nToday\, over half of the largest economies in the world are
global businesses - controlled by the few\, and impacting the many. Busine
ss clearly has the power to change the world - but what if we\, as individ
uals\, had the power to change the world of business? For over a decade\,
Gib Bulloch led a corporate "guerrilla movement" within one of the world's
largest global consulting organisations. Against the odds\, he created a
not-for-profit inside one of the most profit driven corporations in the wo
rld. But success came at a price.\n\nCome and hear Gib talk frankly and op
enly about the experiences that lead to him writing his first book\, “Th
e Intrapreneur: Confessions of a corporate insurgent”. Can we reimagine
a new role for business in society\, where purpose is just as important as
profit? Will the change be driven top down or bottom up by a new breed of
intrapreneurial employee? And how can we remain resilient in a world that
can often seem crazy? We’re hoping for a fun and interactive discussion
.\n\nGib Bulloch is an award-winning social intrapreneur who consults\, wr
ites and speaks on topics relating to the role of business in society. Aft
er an early career spent at BP and Mars\, Bulloch’s epiphany came from a
year as a business volunteer with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) in the
Balkans in 2000. Over the following 15 years\, Gib founded and scaled Acc
 enture’s global ‘not-for-loss’ consulting business\, Accenture Devel
opment Partnerships. He left Accenture in 2016 to write his first book\, T
he Intrapreneur\, and to explore new ways of supporting purpose driven ins
urgencies within the corporate world. Gib serves on the Board of the End F
und and the League of Intrapreneurs. He is an Intrapreneur in Residence at
Business Fights Poverty and a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Mana
 gement.\n\n\nhttps://indico.cern.ch/event/746840/
