CERN: Joel, Philippe, Zoltan, Ricardo, Andrei, Fede, Elisa, Mario, Vincent, Vlad
Krzis, Stefan

Phone: Matvey, Alexey

Dirac v6:
running on several installations in Marseille already.
The last step to consider the release ready, is to install on volhcb13
This is going to be done soon.

Joel: asked in last Bild the instruction for installing from v5 serie to v6.
Andrei: the basic method should be the sys-admin interface, this should foresee all
installation cases, and the transition from v5 and v6 should be done with this tool
passing through the v5r14

Stager:
Ricardo: the problem observed last week was that the stager pick files randomly,
and not grouping by job, so when there are many concurrent jobs, it happens that
many jobs only have a fraction of input files staged and cannot start.
This had not been observed before, because it happens only when many jobs run at same
time.
fix included in a new DIRAC patch release v5r13p24.
LHcbDirac v6r7p6 has been created on top of that and installed on volhcb20
yesterday.
Still some problem with staging files at dCache site, probably due to an abnormal
behaviour of SRM (after a bringOnline request the SRM server reteruns a non zero
code, but the returned string is Done. Bizarre).

Philippe: New tag of transformation system to add a new fetaure in the atomic run plugin
to run DataReconstruction and DataReprocessing task at the same time.
no need of certification, can go in a patch release.
https://savannah.cern.ch/task/?22837
after the meeting Joel did the release: LHCbDirac v6r7p7

Vincent: Nagios agent
will tag it and will go into next release.

Web portal: Add run status to transformation monitoring page, before data reprocessing:
this has been added to the production monitoring
web page, which is inside Dirac, so it has been released in github.
Problem: the concept of run is LHCB specific , then
the page for transformation monitoring should be forked, keeping a general DIRAC
one and a new one for the LHCB
extension, with the run information.
Will be done.

JOel: volhcb14 will be retired next week.
we can merge DBs and agents and services on volhcb03.
For certification, the split is not necessary.
Should the content of DBs be kept, or can be removed? will try to keep it, just
moving the files of DB content.

Reports from the group:

Core and framework:
several fixes in logic of site director.
no major developments.

WMS:
no major development, rather consilidating already existing functionality
Direct CREAM submission : should be used for all major sites.

DMS:
to be discussed how to proceed with transfer request, to make more reliable
and stable. Will be discussed extensively later after the meeting.
StorageHistoryAgent: several improvements applied, execution time went from 17-18 hours
to less than 11h. The new version running smoothly on volhcb12, will do some little check
and then tag it. After, some more improvements will be added (there is still some margin
for optimization).
Consistency checks: two more sites provided storage dumps recently, will be
added to the DAtaManagement/SEUsageAgent configuration during this week.
Philippe : extension of dirac-dms-storage-usage-summary
unification of switches for data management tools to improve the inter-connection
between data managemenet and Bkk.
New tasks will be opened to unify the functionality of disk usage accounting and
monitoring.

RSS:
-Mario: a change of RSS DB.
-Vincent: recreated all the sensors to send data to SLS
(this was done by some scripts in Roberto's area)

-Needed a script to add/remove a Tier2 processing site. Vladimir.
How to add/remove a SE: this is something to be done carefully from the operational
point of view

Production/Transformation:
-Fede: rewriting some parts of transformation system. i.e.
-- how to test a module, possibility to test it stand-alone.
-- Gaudi options files: possibility to take the gaudi extra-options on the fly, not
released yet.
-Discrete run list as input: was added recently, there was a bug, fixed now.
-Philippe: Transformation agent slowed down, due to queries to the BKK. queries cannot be cached
as the plugin is instantiated at every loop.
Should be fixed at DIRAC level.

Bookkeeping:
Zoltan: corrected some bugs recently.
Some queries to get files with different file types are not performant with Oracle 10,
(current version), the problem will disappear with 11g.
New development: a Bkk file system similar to a normal file system (commands like ls, cd
emulated), almost finished.
Also a user guide written for command line and GUI interface.
It is in latex. It would be better to use rst.

Certification and documentation:
ntr

Web portal:
Matvey:
added the job type to the monitoring page (not sure I understood well, please correct me.. thanks)

General considerations about the team organization and the Bild meeting:
Communication within the team should be improved.
Github quite active,
Savannah should be used more: any operational issue which requires development
should be a savannah task. Also tags and releases should be logged in Savannah.
Reports from the groups: for the moment not necessary, let's see if using more
Savannah is satisfactory is enough.
All developers should participate to the Bild meeting.
Reports from activity external to the group would be useful:
from IT and from Dirac related to other VOs.
New agenda proposed by Fede:

DIRAC, DIRACWeb, general (main speaker: Andrei)
1. Recent and forseen releases
 link to release notes
2. Other VOs
What are they doing? Something that LHCb can use?

LHCbDIRAC, LHCbDIRACWeb (main speaker: Joel)
1. Recent and forseen releases
 link to release notes

Other people's work, other meetings, anything for us? (main speaker: those who attended)
 PAC
 Core software
 IT (which ones exactly?)
Reports from developers (as discussed above)
