The BOOST2013 workshop, the 5th international joint experiment/theory workshop on the reconstruction and phenomenology of, and searches for, boosted objects in hadron collisions, follows a series of successful workshops on the same topics at SLAC (2009), Oxford (2010), Princeton (2011), and Valencia (2012). The workshop provides a forum to present and discuss the latest findings from phenomenology and theory on the understanding of the reconstruction of boosted objects in high energy hadron collisions and their use in searches for new physics, together with a review of the most recent results from experimental applications and searches using the boosted analysis methods.
An additional expected focus of the BOOST2013 workshop is the analysis of the validity and performance of boosted techniques so far successfully applied to final states in all presently accessible kinematic domains of hadron collisions, for applications in future higher intensity and higher energy hadron collisions. The adaptation and refinement of existing techniques as well as the potential for development of new approaches is expected to be addressed in this context.
While details of the BOOST2013 agenda are presently under discussion, the general program follows the ones from the previous BOOST workshops. We expect sessions with reports and discussions on Monday through Wednesday (all day), and on Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon is dedicated to initial group formations and discussions of selected topics. Final presentations and summaries on Friday morning conclude the workshop.
