Workshop on

Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information – Theory and Experiment

Wednesday 23 - Friday 25 August 2017

Convenors:

Prof. Yakir Aharonov, Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel and Chapman University, Orange, CA, USA

Dr. Eliahu Cohen, University of Bristol, Bristol, UK

Prof. Avshalom C. Elitzur, Iyar, the Israeli institute for Advanced Research, Zichron Ya'akov, Israel

Despite its immense explanatory power, quantum mechanics seems to pose many conceptual challenges. The questions which occupied the minds of its founders are as relevant and intriguing today, but luckily we now have more tools to tackle them. Some of these tools are mathematical, some are based on a wider physical understanding; some are purely theoretical and some are the result of novel experimental techniques and devices. It is not inconceivable that all these advances will lead to new revolutionary results within the near future.

We aim at bringing together researchers from different backgrounds (quantum information, quantum gravity, mathematical physics, quantum optics, cold atoms, solid state and more) who are all interested in a better understanding of quantum foundations through theory and experiment.

If you are interested to participate in this session, please choose this topic in your abstract submission. If you have questions please contact : Dr. Eliahu Cohen (eli17c@gmail.com), Prof. Avshalom Elitzur (avshalom@iyar.org.il) and icnfp2017@gmail.com.
