The Institute aimed at providing the participants with an opportunity to discuss the latest developments in the field of Dark Matter. The main goal has been to assess critically what is the state of the art at the end of the 'first round' of searches at the TeV scale (in mid-2011) and to plan the road along promising theoretical and phenomenological directions.

The Institute lasted 2 weeks and has been relatively light in talks but quite dense in opportunities for both structured and informal discussion sessions. Each day featured at most one or two selected talks. At least every other day (or more often) the afternoon talk has been replaced by a discussion session chaired by one of the key participants.

Participants coming from far away have been able to take advantage of the fact that the TeV Particle Astrophysics (TeVPA 2011) conference will be held in Stockholm on the first week of August, providing an opportunity to combine the two (different in spirit) meetings.
