Description

The discovery of 𝐢𝑃 violation in 1964 with 𝐾 mesons was a big surprise, and only understood within the CKM mechanism in 1973. The CKM picture was confirmed with the discovery of 𝐢𝑃 violation with 𝐡 mesons at the π΅-factories in 2001.

In this seminar, measurements of 𝐢𝑃 asymmetries in charged 𝐡 meson decay modes to three light mesons are reported using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb detector. 𝐢𝑃 asymmetries are observed with a significance of more than five standard deviations in the

𝐡±→𝑃𝑉 decays are reported, and found to be very large.

These results add to our understanding of the differences between matter and antimatter.
