Abstract: 10 years after the discovery of the Higgs boson, collider physics is at a crossroads. What can the Future Circular Collider do for fundamental Science? We review the physics prospects and TDAQ challenges of the first stage of the project, and the long-term consequences of the decision that Europe must make in the years ahead.
