Description

LHCb UK Seminar Series: From collisions to offline analysis

Part 2:  LHCb Real Time Analysis

An overview of LHCb Real Time Analysis (online processing), from Marian Stahl (CERN):

"With the upgraded LHCb experiment we face harsh data taking conditions:
the instantaneous luminosity increased by a factor 5 compared to Run 2 and
the full detector is read out at an event rate of 30 MHz.
The resulting data rate of 4 Terabytes per second has to be processed
by the trigger system in real-time.
I will describe how LHCb's Real-Time-Analysis project addresses this
challenge, and give an overview of the dataflow, reconstruction and calibration."

This seminar will take place both on ZOOM and in-person, in room 13/3-005. Refreshments will be provided.
