Description
We report the direct XPEEM imaging of the magnetic response of a 4.8nm La$_{0.9}$Ba$_{0.1}$MnO$_3$ film to the voltage applied across a 5nm BaTiO$_3$ film. Ferroelectric patterns were written on the BaTiO$_3$ with an AFM in contact-mode and the change in magnetic contrast measured with XPEEM. We observe an increase in the magnetic contrast when going from negative to positive writing voltages (Fig.1). Temperature dependent measurements show a decrease in the Curie temperature for positive voltage above +6V applied, corresponding to hole-depletion state. The magnetic contrast of the written areas are compared with SQUID-magnetometry results, confirming the behavior for accumulation/depletion states of the La$_{0.9}$Ba$_{0.1}$MnO$_3$ for the two polarizations of BaTiO$_3$.
