Timepix-BLM XEI/BL meeting
→
Europe/Zurich
Notes from meeting:
CWDM-VTTx may be delayed.
Will plan to make a Diamond/TPX3-BLM test in mid 2024.
Some actions:
- Eva: Try to calculate a figure for the maximum expected particle flux, based on the Diamond responses. How much more do we expect with the Hi-Lumi upgrades?
- Eva: Contact CHARM to enquire about facilities for doing a combined Diamond/TPX3-BLM test. For the TPX2 we need eight SM fibres and six wires for power, maximum current 1A. The Front-End crate is a 2U 19” box, it needs to be within 5m of the detector. Mounting it on the detector stand seems like a good idea. In the control room we need space for a Front-End Computer, (e.g. Komtron 19” FEC although it’s also possible to use a NUC or a small tower), some lab power supplies and the Back-End box (19”2U). We will also need a beam warning timing signal, ideally the same signal as the Diamond is using.
- James / Christos: see if we could get a Technical Student to assist with the data taking and analysis.
- Christos: Please could you confirm the number of LpGBT, SM-VTRx and SM-VTTx that we have requested for the BI-XEI projects.
- Gabriela: As contingency against delays with the SM-VTTx, it would be best if the PCB was laid out with 3x SM-VTRx+ (one for LpGBT slow control, two Tx only directly from Timepix4). If the PCB has space then two more Timepix4 DataOut signals could be routed to a SM-VTTx+.
- Mark: ask James for BC for 100 off LpGBT and SM-VTRx for section project contingency
