Description

What does a year at the LHC look like? How do we get from setup to those thrilling first collisions? How long does it take to fill the LHC with particles, how often do we refill, and what’s happening with the other accelerators in between? And how does it all connect to the bustling heart of operations - the CERN Control Center (CCC)?

With Rende Steerenberg, head of the Operations Group, we will try to cover those questions on a basic level, that's easily applicable in the communication towards visitors. The talk will take ~45 min. with time for questions afterwards.
