Discussion:

  • Started with 3D CATIA model open
  • Discussed with Vincent S., Emilien and Thibaut on what's the best way to proceed for the ceramic metal brazing assembly
  • Likely give the ceramic-metal brazing assembly to external company ?
  • Check the rigidity in order not to damage the ceramic
  • Gunn will come back on Monday after checking with Jean on how to hold the tantalum foils, at the moment it is just loose sitting
  • Gunn will provide minimum distance that can be made between Grid and the vacuum chamber in order to modify the cooling water circuit
  • Bakeout temperature for gun is 250 degree C
  • The tolerences given in the EDMS doc are very strict. The simulation results presented by Gunn today are the latest requirement and based on that the linear tolerences can be relaxed to +/-0.5 mm as we do not see significant degradation of the electron beam quality (transverse velocity). However the angular tolerences will be 0+/- 2 mrad or based on best effort. The EDMS document will be updated with the exact values we need.
  • Requested number of guns to produce: 1 now for test + 1 spare
