On HRS, in-source laser spectroscopy of the long chain of 132−153Pm finished successfully.

On GPS, beams are sent to two different experimental installations, at LA1 and GHM, to study distinct physics cases. One set of measurements focuses on characterising various materials that could serve as suitable hosts for the isomer in 229Th, in the context of nuclear clock development. Additionally, actinide beams are implanted into diamond to study quantum colour centres, as part of investigations into CP violation through electric dipole moment (EDM) measurements. A variety of lighter beams is also implanted in diamond to study quantum colour centres in the context of quantum computing. So far, the measurements are progressing smoothly, with the exception of some issues encountered over the weekend due to machine problems. It is worth noting that this is the first run at GHM since the suspension of activities in GLM/GHM in April this year.
Schedule
- Cancelled the Cd beam end of June for clarity
- Will try to find replacement
