Description

Recently, CDF reported an excess of events in an analysis searching for the Flavor-Changing-Neutral-Current (FCNC) decay Bs --> mu+mu-. While of moderate statistical significance, this data may be the first indication of a signal in this decay channel. I will discuss the details of the analysis, with an emphasis on those elements that could give rise to a false signal.
