The Site and Civil Engineering (SCE) Department is pleased to invite the CERN community to the Campus Development Day on 13 October 2025. This special event offers a unique opportunity to explore a selection of recently completed and upcoming construction and renovation projects across the CERN’s campus. Together, these projects demonstrate how the CERN Masterplan 2040 is being put into action, with a focus on safety, sustainability and better working conditions, while also significantly cutting energy use.

 

Event Highlights

·        Exhibition in the Main Building (Salle des Pas Perdus):

Discover detailed posters and scale models highlighting projects currently under development: B777 and B140, respectivley for the ATS Sector, and EP & IR & and a new Learning Centre, the renovation of B100 – the Main Workshop, and the construction of B3189 to host the new superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) facility,  alongside informational posters for the projects featured in the guided tours. The exhibition will run from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is open without reservation. SCE project leaders will be present to provide insights and answer questions. Representatives from user departments will also be available to discuss how these upcoming buildings will benefit their teams.

 

·     Guided visits of buildings: 

Discover the latest building developments through 30-minute guided tours led by SCE technical leads and representatives from the respective departments. Each tour is limited to 12 participants, requiring reservation via Indico; tours are organized from 08:30 to 12:30 h (until 16:30 h for B60).

Buildings: Renovations of 52 (Library), 60 (main building, 73 and the new constructions 184 (including ISR where was the first collisioner), 775 (Prevessin Data Centre and Prevessin Heating plant, 3195 (new ATLAS/FCC building) and Parking B864-B864.

Guided visits: Reservations are required via Indico and restricted to CERN card holders only!
