Minutes Date 29.3.2012 Participants: Vuko Brigljevic, Matthew Herndon, Shih-Chieh Hsu, Alexander Oh CMS and ATLAS exchanged slides about fiducial volume definitions and aTGC parametrisations Following issues where raised: - WW cross section different (theoretical) by ~10%. Why? gg contributions are included. - W gamma cross section MCFM differ between ATLAS and CMS AI: follow up with MCFM experts in each experiment to find cause. Exchange steering cards, try to have results by next week. - CMS uses Lff = inf - Re-parametrisation with L(NP) proposed by CMS. - CMS uses for ZZ h3,h4(Z,gamma), but ATLAS uses f4,f5, AI: need to be checked. - ATLAS defines lepton dressing with photons, CMS uses bare letpons. - CMS does not use the neutrino in the fiducial cross section definition, while ATLAS does. - ATLAS uses a jet veto while CMS does not. AI : CMS will discuss these points internally. - Agreed to define or'ed fiducial volume (ATLAS || CMS), discuss proposal at next meeting. AI : Define or'ed fiducial volume. - ATLAS uses zero width approximation for ZZ analysis, while CMS uses line shape. AI : Can ATLAS use line shape MC? next meeting: 5th April, 6pm CERN time.
