Description
Compact binary systems are copious producers of gravitational waves and
are also expected to radiate strongly electromagnetically. This talk will
describe several processes --intrinsically requiring the strongly gravitating/highly
dynamical behaviour of the system-- that can yield observable signals in a variety
of frequencies. Moreover, we will discuss how such radiation might prove
fundamental in answering key questions about their components and gravity itself.
