From singular monopoles to framed BPS states

I'll motivate the study of singular non-abelian monopoles and introduce their basic definition and properties. I'll present the formula for the dimension of their moduli space we recently derived and will end with an application to framed BPS states in N=2 four dimensional gauge theories.
