We will give an overview of concepts including uncertainties in measurements, applied probability, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, data visualisation and reduction. Common tools to use (such as ROOT, python and python statistical libraries) as well as common pitfalls to avoid will be also described through examples extracted from real cases.
