- General news, by Andrea
- Andrea presented Jaako who will join the section on 1st of April
- Andrea asked to fill in regularly the time sheet report to all contributors to LBNF project and Cooling support.
- Mark Hatch kindly available as editor for the DT annual report for EO (contributions to be submitted to him).
- Ruben was asked to start implementing full procedure to use thermal setup and CO2 simulation tool. To be completed by end of April for revision before he leaves.
- Automatic synchronization tool for CDD released drawings, by Christophe
Conclusion: each designer has to make a preliminary analysis of action that could be taken to solve his non-synchronized data
Information: CAD support is looking for volunteers for testing future PLM software (replacement of Smarteam). Tests should be organized during 2018, and volunteers has to be trained on 4 different software (comparative tests mean each tester will test all software)
Conclusion: EP-DT has not enough resources to find volunteer. Proposed solution is to pay FSU
- Table tour
Ruben: reported possible delay on thermal testing, due to solution to be find for heaters potting and possible readout issues.
Suggest to have our own EP-DT CO2 cooling plant, to avoid to be dependant of other teams
Christophe: Stratasys 3d printer out of order. We try to repair, and in parallel, we search best price for print head replacement (from official provider: 4500CHF). To produce urgent parts, we use the Ultimaker 3d printer. But the quality is not so good. We have to understand why, and make few tests to define best parameters to use
Joao: Suggest EP-DT buy a laser cut machine. Able to cut polymer material and thin layer of metal. In some cases, could be an alternative to 3d printing, by 2d cutting and assembling
François: reported autoclave oven failure, under investigation
Diego: he flagged persisting problems in using the vidyo equipment both on 155-R-047 and 20-1-004. New equipment to be envisaged.
