Advanced Technology at the University of Twente is a broad BSc program, preparing students for various MSc programs. Students can decide to enroll in applied physics, applied mathematics, mechanical -, biomedical -, electrical - or chemical engineering or even business related studies.

This annual CERN visit is organized for AT BSc students who follow courses on thermodynamics and electromagnetism and the visit at CERN contributes to the exam material. They will specifically look into the wonderful world of superconductors and superconducting technology, in specific magnet design. A group of 48 visitors is expected, including students from many different countries. This program is truly international due to the international character of the Advanced Technology program at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

The visit program covers four days in Geneva of which three at CERN. The group always arrives on Monday with their own transport in Geneva and the CERN program starts on Tuesday morning. Besides standard CERN Visits Service itineraries, additional lab visits are planned, as well as lectures and workshops. At the end of the third day, the students have to present their work in smaller groups and get graded on their results.

CERN welcomes the Advanced Technology students from the University of Twente in Geneva!
