  5. A lecture from a PhD student at CERN, working of physics or detector technologies. Why study physics or engineering? Which university? How do you come to CERN? What do you work on every day? How is life in the Geneva region? Questions which will be answered during the interactive session.

  7. The Antimatter Factory is the unique place in the world and at CERN, where systematically anti-matter is produced and measured. Several experiments (international collaborations) have their setups in the hall where also two decelerators are located: the Antiproton Decelerator (AD) and ELENA (Extremely Low ENergy Antiprotons), the smallest 'ring' at CERN.

  8. A guided tour at CERN's ATLAS experiment, the largest of the two general purpose experiments of the LHC. Experts will tell more about the wonderful physics and the very specific detector hardware used in the experiment. One can also have a look into the control room and watch a 3D movie about the construction and operation of this marvel of science!

  9. A guided tour at CERN's CMS experiment, one of the general purpose experiments of the LHC. Although it is called 'compact' it is actually quite impressive! Experts will tell more about the wonderful physics and the very specific detector hardware used in the experiment. One can also have a look into the control room.

  11. A guided tour at CERN's Data Center where about 20% of the computing resources of the WLCG are located. An expert will tell more about computing, data processing, software and hardware, storage, networks and in specific the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid.

  12. The permanent expositions at CERN can be freely visited six days per week (closed on Sundays). The Globe is a more general exposition and displays a movie every half an hour (XXh45 in French, XXh15 in English). The Microcosm goes more into the details of accelerators and detectors.

  13. A guided tour at CERN's ISOLDE facility where by far most protons go. Experts will tell more about isotopes, the equipment and the physics at the oldest CERN experiment.
